| Museum Plan<\/b><\/font> Carlow Town Council have approved the plans for the development of Carlow County Museum. The new development involves the restoration of the former Presentation Convent on College Street, Carlow Town. The Tourist Office will act as the reception area for the County Museum. Carlow is one of thirteen County Museums in Ireland and the second in Leinster. The County Museum is being developed by Carlow Local Authorities in association with the Carlow Historical & Archaeological Society (CHAS). A Museum Board has been established to oversee the Museum’s strategic development. The Museum contains a growing collection of over 5,000 items some of which are of national and international importance. Carlow County Museum works closely with the National Museum of Ireland, particularly in the area of Archaeological Finds.
